Ishikawa Prefectural Museum of Traditional Arts and Crafts exhibits all 36 different types of crafts of Ishikawa prefecture.
Visitors can feel and observe the traditional skills developed over the centuries in this region.
In the permanent exhibition, objects are classified into such groups as "Clothes," "Food," "Houses," "Praying," "Festivals."
Our special exhibitions introduce inspiring works from around the country.
At our museum shop, visitors can feel and touch the crafts, handmade by local artisans.
Here, you can enjoy the beauty, sophisticated skills, and spirit of preserving the traditional crafts, developed through history and culture, as well as the new suggestions for ways to connect the traditional and modern lives.

本展では、公益財団法人石川県デザインセンターが主催する「令和6年度 石川県デザインセンター選定商品事業」において選ばれた、魅力あふれる商品群をご紹介します。紹介される一点一点には、石川の風土や歴史、文化に根差したストーリーが息づき、素材や製法の選定にもサステナビリティの視点も反映されています。地域に根差した思いと現代的な感性が出会い、心を動かす“かたち”となって結実した品々をご覧ください。

「工藝之道 -石川で学ぶアジアの作家たち-」
日本の工芸は、古くからアジア諸国との文化的な交流を通じて育まれ、やがて独自の美意識と技術を築き上げてきました。本展の出展作家たちは、そうした歴史的な背景に耳を傾けつつ、自身のルーツと石川での学びを重ね合わせ、新しい表現へと昇華させています。今年は大阪・関西万博の開催により、世界との繋がりや文化的多様性が改めて注目される年です。本展が、工芸を通じた国際的な交流の場として、異文化理解の一助となれば幸いです。アジアから石川へ、そして未来へと続く“工藝の道”を歩む若き作家たちの挑戦に、ぜひご注目ください
